Based on podcast episode 245: Crossover with Rodney Smith: Spiritual Warfare, Calling, and Last Days Truth
Spiritual warfare isn’t confined to ancient texts—it’s a present reality.
It’s not poetic language or religious metaphor. It’s the unseen battle behind every cultural shift, personal crisis, and theological compromise. In these last days, the enemy doesn’t need to attack churches with force—he only needs to keep them asleep.
Those called into ministry today often aren’t ushered in by ceremony—they’re

driven in by fire. Their stories carry pain, disruption, and sometimes, supernatural encounters. That’s not a coincidence. It’s preparation.
In a recent crossover episode of Bible Mysteries Podcast, I sat down with Rod Smith of the Millennial Mustard Seed Podcast to explore just how closely spiritual warfare is tied to personal calling—and why your testimony may be more powerful than you realize.
The Battle Behind the Calling
Ministry doesn’t begin with a microphone. It often begins with suffering.
Rod Smith’s journey to podcasting started after a near-death experience that reoriented everything he thought he knew. His former life unraveled, but what came in its place was clarity: a calling to proclaim the truth, no matter how unconventional the platform.
My own story wasn’t far off. From years spent as a professional musician, to serving in the church, to leaving the comfort of traditional structures—I was being moved toward something that didn’t fit the typical mold. A divine nudge through Ryan Peterson’s book helped ignite the creation of Bible Mysteries Podcast, and with it, a shift into revealing truths long buried or dismissed.
These weren’t accidents. They were spiritual interventions. They were war strategies. The enemy knows who’s paying attention. Those who are awake become targets—but they also become tools in God’s hand.
Discernment in a Culture of Confusion
We live in an age where falsehood is packaged as progress, and anything rooted in Scripture is dismissed as irrelevant. But God hasn’t changed His mind. His Word is still the standard. The problem is, many have stopped rightly dividing it.
We talked in the episode about the importance of hermeneutics—how we interpret Scripture, especially using the law of first mention. Take worship, for instance. It didn’t begin with music. It began with Abraham, sacrificing Isaac on Mount Moriah (Genesis 22). That moment defined true worship: obedience, not performance.
In today’s culture, we’ve replaced reverence with rhythm. But without understanding the depth of Scripture, even worship can become empty noise. And in the middle of that noise, spiritual deception thrives.
Podcasting as a Platform for Truth
God is using unusual tools in these unusual times.
Podcasting, once thought of as a hobby or entertainment format, has become a battlefield for truth. Ministries like Bible Mysteries and Millennial Mustard Seed are reaching people who’ve been disillusioned by tradition but still hunger for the Word. These conversations expose what mainstream pulpits often avoid: demonic agendas, Nephilim legacies, eschatological signs, and the increasing intensity of spiritual warfare.
It’s not about building platforms. It’s about occupying territory.
The enemy doesn’t need to convince the world there’s no God—he only needs to distort the truth enough that people can’t recognize Him.
Stand Strong. Speak Truth. Stay Ready.
We’re not promised comfort—but we are promised victory. That victory comes through Christ, but the path often involves suffering, discernment, and a willingness to walk away from what’s familiar.
If you’re sensing that calling... if you’ve gone through the fire and wondered what it was for... if you’re awake in a sleeping world... know this: you’re not alone, and you’re not crazy.
You’re being equipped.
And there are others—like Rod and myself—who are walking the same road. Listen to Episode 245 of Bible Mysteries Podcast to hear more about how God is using testimony, suffering, and spiritual warfare to awaken the Church.
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” – 1 Peter 5:8
Prepare. Arm yourself with truth. And take your place in the fight.
